蓝塘猪原产于广东省紫金县，广东省实验动物监测所与广东市饲料研究所合作引进种猪建立实验用广东蓝塘猪繁殖种群。该猪被毛黑色，体侧下半部、腹部和四肢为白色，额有皱纹。成年猪85.5~127kg。母猪初次发情一般在3~4月龄，初产10~11头，经产12~14头。
